60-second sermon

Without Jesus we are living a lie.
Jesus said: ‘I am the way and the truth and life. No-one comes to the Father but by me’ – words recorded in John’s Gospel in the New Testament, the account by the Apostle John, who had known Jesus Christ personally, of his life, teaching, death and resurrection.
The Father here being Almighty God, the supreme Creator and Ruler of the universe, Jesus was making an astonishing claim.
Jesus was saying that if people do not believe and trust personally in him, the eternal divine Son of God, then they are out of relationship with his Father,  the God who made them and who will one day judge them. What could be worse than to face God on Judgement Day and to find that I am out of relationship with him?
That is why I need to believe in the Lord Jesus for eternal salvation. We all do. For without Jesus, who showed that he was who he said he was by rising from the dead, we have taken the wrong way, we are living a lie and we are lacking life in relationship with God. Surely we need Jesus, who is the way and the truth and the life?
