Birmingham March for Life: This Saturday! What Can YOU Do?

May 17, 2017 by

On Saturday the UK’s largest pro-life festival will take place in Birmingham as we remember 50 years of legalised abortion in the UK. Will you be there? Coaches are going from around the UK, click here to find your nearest one or there is still time to get a group together from your area/church as many other people have done. We have posters and flyers if you get in contact.

If you are local or a very dedicated pro-lifer arriving on Fri 19th May, we have a special evening vigil for you at St Michael’s Church, Moor St (7pm Holy hour, 8pm Mass, 8.30pm special devotions) with special guest Martin Aelred providing the music. This is followed by a social where you can have a chance to meet this year’s speakers.

To help you prepare for the big day we have an itinerary of Saturday 20th May. At 10am there will be a Mass for those who wish to attend it at St Chad’s Cathedral, celebrated by Bishop Robert Byrne, Bishop Patrick McKinney and Bishop Ralph Heskett. There will be a chance to venerate the relic image of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The city centre opens for ‘LifeFest17’ at 11.45am (10mins walk from the cathedral, directions will be given). Here there will be educational stalls showcasing the main pro-life groups in the UK so you can find out what is going on in your area and how you can get involved.

Pro-life merchandise will be on sale at the March for Life stall and face-painting will be available for the young and young-at-heart. The all-important street food vans will be waiting to take your orders and portaloos will be at your disposal throughout the day. An outdoor stage with big screens will be set up so you can enjoy live music while you browse (chairs will be on hand for those unsteady on their feet of if you just want to sit down to enjoy a bite to eat).
