Democrats have a licence to harass

It seems to me that if you are a Democrat you have a licence to harass women. To be more specific, if you are a Democrat man, support partial-birth abortion, crushing the conscience of nuns and all the other ideas of Leftism, you are free to grope, rape, molest and harass women, and leave one to drown in a submerged car.
It is true that you probably should not do all of these things in a short space of time. That might hurt you. But if you are one of a series of Leftist men who do these things over some decades, as long as you are a Democrat the feminists will defend you.
Let’s start with the most serious case. On Friday, July 18, 1969, Senator Ted Kennedy hosted a party on Chappaquiddick Island for six unattached young women who had served on Robert F Kennedy’s 1968 presidential campaign. There were five other guests, all married men, like Kennedy. He left the party with one of the women, 28-year-old Mary Jo Kopechne. His car plunged off the bridge to the mainland and overturned in the tidal channel. Kennedy got out and swam to safety, leaving Miss Kopechne in the car, which was resting upside down on the bottom of the channel. It was ten hours before he reported the accident. Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a crash and received a two-month suspended jail sentence.
Despite this, Kennedy was referred to as the ‘Lion of the Senate’ by Democrats throughout his long career. Ted Kennedy, I have no doubt, was a serial harasser. But he was pro-abortion – so, you know, whatever.
But that was such a long time ago, you might say, standards were different back then. I’m not sure abandoning a woman in a submerged car was ever ok, but let’s move on to Modern Times™.
