It takes a father to raise a civilised man by Laura Perrins, The Conservative Woman

Fathering is about inspiring, by Edmund Adamus, Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster:

So if we want the boys of today (so many of whom are at massively high risk of being routinely exposed to grossly indecent imagery impoverishing their affective emotional maturity) to truly become the well-rounded, courageous, self-sacrificing men of tomorrow, we have to model for them today a wholesome, spirit-filled witness to faithful fatherhood, that is strong, masculine, truly generous and servant-like.

I believe that the father who stands by his commitment to his wife, to his children and to his grandchildren, and who walks with God as well, is a rare bird. […] A layman asked about the “crisis of marriage” and how Catholics can help educate youth in love, help them learn about sacramental marriage, and help them overcome “their resistance, delusions and fears.”

The Pope answered from his own experience.

“I heard a bishop say some months ago that he met a boy that had finished his university studies, and said ‘I want to become a priest, but only for 10 years.’ It’s the culture of the provisional. And this happens everywhere, also in priestly life, in religious life,” he said.
