The latest Crosslinks magazine is out now and it’s all about listening to local Christians around the world. We may be surprised by their experiences and needs and will often discover that there is much that Christians in the west can learn. Go to page 9 to read about the challenges Christian women in Ghana face – some will sound familiar but others are quite distinct. Turn to page 20 to hear from children in Thailand who face unthinkable hardship but know that they have much to thank God for.

On page 16 Jonny Burgess writes, “When teaching Romans 6 in the UK we would want to show how slavery to God is a good thing: it enables us to flourish in obedience and righteousness. But if you began a sermon in The Gambia saying, ‘The world around us considers Christianity to be oppressive and restrictive…’ – your Gambian hearers would think you’re mad! Tour buses full of drunken, topless tourists arrive from the ‘Christian’ west, so that is what Gambians think Christianity means. Teaching Romans 6 here needs approaching from the opposite angle…” Download the magazine to read on.
