Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, psychologist, author and beloved friend passed away on Wednesday March 9th from complications due to a viral infection. He was the founder of the Thomas Aquinas Psychological Clinic, a founding member of NARTH and the Alliance for Therapeutic Choice, and served as the second President of the organization. He is survived by his wife Linda and son Joseph Nicolosi, Jr.

Dr. Nicolosi’s contribution to the Alliance and the NARTH Institute are incalculable. He was an inspiration and mentor to hundreds of clients and scores of clinical colleagues. He is the author of five foundational  books on the treatment of unwanted homosexual attractions and many articles published in professional publications. At the time of his death he was serving as the chair of the NARTH Institute clinical division.

Joe’s courage, perseverance, and optimism will always be an inspiration to the friends and members of the Alliance where we remain committed to his battle for client self-determination, therapeutic choice and scientific integrity.
