A controversial ‘No’ campaign commercial that references sex and male and female reproductive organs has been banned from playing on Australian television until later at night.

The free-to-air commercial funded by the Coalition for Marriage references quotes from Minus18, Australia’s largest youth-led organisation for the rights of LGBTQ people.

‘Penis-in-vagina sex is not the only sex, and certainly is not the ultimate sex,’ the advertisement references the government-supported group.

The latest polls show the ‘Yes’ vote has a strong majority of nearly 60 per cent of the vote with more than two-third of ballots being turned in.

The commercial, which is set to air on Australian TV on Monday night, was given an MA rating due to its ‘depictions of implied sexual activity and verbal sexual references’ and as such cannot appear any earlier than 8.30pm.

[…]  ‘It beyond belief that taxpayer-funded LGBTIQ sex and gender education materials openly made available to students of all ages are given an MA rating for television,’ spokesman Lyle Shelton said.

‘The issue of these materials, of parents’ rights, and the direct relationship with changing the Marriage Act are there for all to see, and parents should beware.’
