U.S. President Barack Obama’s transgender bathroom mandate is now facing a joint challenge from a Christian and a feminist group, who are concerned that the policy exposes woman and girls to potential danger.

In an unlikely partnership, the Family Policy Alliance (FPA) has teamed up with Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF) to challenge Obama’s transgender bathroom policy, which dictates that schools should allow transgender individuals to use the bathroom of their choice to continue receiving federal funding. Despite the two groups’ differences on various issues, they both agree on promoting women’s privacy and safety, Townhall reports.

“On certain issues, such as gender identity, pornography and prostitution — we’ll find that the left has pretty much sold out women on these issues,” said WoLF’s Board of Directors chair Kara Dansky. “We stand up for women and girls.”

For Dansky, it is unfair to let men identifying as women have access to the same benefits that women are entitled to under the law. Echoing her thoughts, FPA’s director of policy Autumn Leva said they now want the Supreme Court to acknowledge the importance of women’s privacy and safety.

“How wrong does something need to be for a Christian family group, and a radical feminist group, to take their argument together to the Supreme Court?” said Leva. “Privacy and safety matter and we’re asking the high court to acknowledge that.”
