Preparations are well underway for this year’s Lambeth Conference in Canterbury. This gathering, to which all active bishops of the Anglican Communion’s member churches are invited, takes place approximately every 10 years and will run from the 23 July until 2 August.

The Anglican Consultative Council, Anglican Alliance and Lambeth Conference Company are all part of the Anglican Communion Office (ACO), in London. Staff from all three charities are busy preparing for the Lambeth Conference, but that is not all that 2020 holds for the ACO.

The Primates’ Meeting will be held in Jordan from 12 to 17 January. The Anglican Alliance will host a Safe Migration consultation for the Middle East from the 29 January until 2 February.

The Secretary General, Dr Josiah Idowu-Fearon, will travel to Sri Lanka in February for a meeting of the Anglican Interfaith Commission. The Anglican Alliance will host a “She Works” Photography workshop in the Philippines.

In March, there will be an Intentional Discipleship consultation in Kuching, Malaysia and in Lweru, Tanzania. The Anglican Communion Office at the United Nations (ACOUN) will be taking a delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women in New York, and the department for Theological Education will be participating in a Latin American Theological Commission.

The Season of Prayer and Repentance, proposed by the Primates’ Task Group, will be held around the fifth Sunday in Lent (29 March).
