Advent with Archbishop Foley Beach

from GAFCON:

In this Everyday Global Anglican interview with Archbishop Foley Beach and Keith and Kristyn Getty, Abp Foley shares,

“We’re in this time of Covid, people are living in fear, our whole lives have been turned upside down but you know, Advent is a time of anticipation, of hope, of expectation, of the Lord’s coming and when He comes He says He will make everything right and so we look forward to that day in Jesus’ Name.”

And so we wait.

As Keith says in the interview,

“…there’s the basic principle of understanding in Advent that this is not all there is and so that shapes our prayers, that shapes our preaching, it shapes our songs, it shapes our life… It’s hard to wait, you know, it’s hard to create the tension that allows resolutions.”

Faith McDonnell, Gafcon’s Suffering Church Network leader reminds us that Scripture demonstrates over and over that our waiting is born through fulfilled promises, even as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. For this reason, Gafcon walks with the suffering church, to draw us together in prayer for them, to ask that God would sustain them, and to remind them and each other of God’s fulfilled promises during times of fear and anxious waiting.
