Apostasy, Sacrilege and Betrayal

With the strong support of their vicar Rev’d Lissa Scott, the Parochial Church Council of St Matthew and St Luke, Darlington last week voted to cover crosses and other sacred images in order to host Islamic prayers and an Iftar meal for local Muslims .They also agreed to provide separate worship space so Muslim men and women could offer segregated worship.

Rev’d Lissa is described locally as “a moderniser who offers cafeteria-style religion.” But someone with more sense and greater authority, the Venerable Rick Simpson, Archdeacon of Auckland, has formally refused to give permission for Muslim prayer in the main body of the church.

Islam, the renowned religion of peace and love, has a 1400 year history in the persecution of Christians. For instance, only a few years ago , Canon Andrew White reported from Iraq:

“On Christmas morning, Islamic State turned up and they said to our Christian children, ‘You say the words…’ the shehada, to convert to Islam ’ …that you will follow Mohammed.’ And the four children, all under fifteen, said, ‘No, we love Jesus. We have always loved Jesus. We have always followed Jesus. Jesus has always been with us.’ The men from IS said, ‘Say the words!’ The children said, ‘No, we can’t’.”

At this point in his report, Canon White began sobbing: “They chopped all their heads off. How do you respond to that? You just cry. They’re my children. That is what we have been going through. That is what we are going through.”

Throughout Iraq, churches were turned into torture chambers for Christians. All who refused to convert to Islam were subjected to prolonged torture and some were killed. Abu Aasi, an eye- witness, reported from the spot: “They are blindfolded and handcuffed and the Muslims are breaking all the crosses and statues of Mary.”

They also turned the ancient Chaldean church of the Immaculate Conception in Mosul into a prison for Christian women.

Meanwhile in Somalia Muslim terrorists boasted that they slaughtered a group of Christians “while they were celebrating Christmas.” Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab, spokesman for the gunmen from Al Shabaab, gloatingly announced that they had killed “fourteen Christian enemies.”

In Pakistan, Elizabeth Bibi, a pregnant twenty-eight year old Christian mother of four children, was beaten, scorned and humiliated and made to walk naked through the streets. In the ordeal, she lost her baby. She was then beaten with pipes by two Muslim men. As usual, the police failed to make any arrests and Elizabeth’s relatives received death threats because they insisted on pressing charges.

In Tehran on Christmas Day 2015, as they celebrated Mass in a private house, nine Christians were arrested by paramilitary agents, taken to a secluded location where seven were hanged on the orders of the Iranian regime.

In the Catholic diocese of Maiduguri in northern Nigeria, Christians are terrorised by Boko Haram. Father Gideon Obasogie reported: “These people have no homes and are living outdoors in a condition of hopelessness in fear of suicide bombers disguised as nuns.”

In Taraba State, more than a hundred Muslim Fulani herdsmen slaughtered sixteen Christians, including a one-year-old infant and his mother, and torched several churches and Christians’ homes in two separate attacks. A resident from one of the villages said, “We have buried those killed in the attack, and the sad thing is that this is not the first time that such an attack was carried out on Christian communities here. No one cares about us. Lives and properties are being wasted on a daily basis, and the government is not doing anything to stop the killing of our people.”

I am merely giving you a selection from countless thousands of such examples. For instance, police arrested and beat up thirty-six Christians from the Bahri Evangelical Church in North Khartoum, for still using the church that authorities had condemned to destruction and which had already been raided and partially demolished during the previous two weeks.

Meanwhile in the town of Mandera in Kenya, gunmen from Al Shabaab launched an early morning raid on quarry workers while they were asleep in their tents. They separated the Christians from the Muslims and either shot or beheaded thirty-six Christians. Afterwards, Al Shabaab posted a statement condemning the “crusaders” — a standard jihadi reference to Christians — and added: “We are uncompromising in our beliefs, relentless in our pursuit, ruthless against the disbelievers.” These killings occurred ten days after Al Shabaab’s attack on a bus and the massacre of twenty-eight Christian passengers

In Libya, some Muslim men broke into a Christian household in the middle of the night. They handcuffed and killed the father. They then entered the children’s bedroom. The mother was there, cried out, tried to fight back, and was killed. They took the eldest daughter, Katherine, and fled with her. The girl’s body was later found in the desert, shot three times. The other two younger daughters were left for two-and-a-half hours in their bedroom with the body of their murdered mother.

Islamic law holds that new churches are never to be built in Muslim lands and existing ones never repaired. Even so, many of these partially wrecked churches continue to be used, and are even packed, for church services. Meanwhile all over Britain new mosques are opening at a rate faster even than the closure of pubs. Anyone expressing the mildest disquiet about Muslims’ sectarian and exclusivist practices is pronounced guilty of Islamophobia. And while their Christian brothers and sisters are being persecuted, dispossessed, raped, tortured and beheaded, our archbishops and bishops remain silent – apart from the fatuities they utter in their everlasting “conversations with moderate Muslims.”

Muslims are murdering Christians every day on four continents. By doing so, they are simply being faithful to the Koran. Here are a few verses:

“Slay them wherever you find them…Idolatry is worse than carnage…Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God’s religion reigns supreme.” (Surah 2:190-)

“The only true faith in God’s sight is Islam.” (Surah 3:19)

“Believers, do not make friends with any but your own people…” (Surah 3:118, 119)

“Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends.” (Surah 5:51)

“Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God’s religion shall reign supreme.” (Surah 8:36-)

“…make war on the leaders of unbelief…Make war on them: God will chastise them at your hands and humble them. He will grant you victory over them…” (Surah 9:12-)

“Fight against such as those to whom the Scriptures were given [Jews and Christians]…until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued.” (Surah 9:27-)

“It is He who has sent forth His apostle with guidance and the true Faith [Islam] to make it triumphant over all religions, however much the idolaters [non-Muslims] may dislike it.” (Surah 9:31-)

“If you do not fight, He will punish you sternly, and replace you by other men.” (Surah 9:37-)

“Prophet make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal rigorously with them. Hell shall be their home.” (Surah 9:73)

“Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Deal firmly with them.” (Surah 9:121-)

“Say: ‘Praise be to God who has never begotten a son; who has no partner in His Kingdom…” (Surah 17:111)

“‘How shall I bear a child,’ she [Mary] answered, ‘when I am a virgin…?’ ‘Such is the will of the Lord,’ he replied. ‘That is no difficult thing for Him…God forbid that He [God[ Himself should beget a son!…Those who say: ‘The Lord of Mercy has begotten a son,’ preach a monstrous falsehood…” (Surah 19:12-, 29-, 88)

Muslims cherish and obey their scriptures. It is a scandal that modern Christians such as Rev’d Lissa and her treacherous PCC don’t do likewise.
