from Coalition for Marriage
This is the second of the two holiday compilation videos, drawn from another year in which it has been a privilege to record 50 plus C4M interviews. The second compilation is here:
The theme is straightforward: real marriage is not sustained by sentiment. It is sustained by culture, formation, mobilisation, law, and a refusal to let the state displace parents. These five clips show what that looks like in practice.
1) From 0:00, Connor Tomlinson: why marry young Tomlinson brings it back to first principles. As he puts it, “every single civilization begins from the household and household economy”. A marriage culture is built from the ground up, not announced from the top down. Full interview linked here.
2) From 7:30, Dr Timothy Edwards: pro-marriage higher education in Oxford Edwards argues education is not just job training but character formation, “so that the families, the church and the nation are blessed”. The point is obvious but often avoided: institutions form people, and people form marriages. Full interview linked here.
3) From 11:55, Ignacio Arsuaga: mass mobilisation for real marriage Arsuaga describes how petitions and public pressure can still matter when they are tied to concrete action. In the C4M write-up, CitizenGO is described as a tool to defend “life, family and freedom” across borders, and actually “confront” politicians when they betray promises. Full interview linked here.
4) From 18:52, Olivier Bault: why law still matters Bault explains why Poland’s constitutional clarity on marriage gives an anchor for family policy, and why redefining marriage unravels that clarity. This is the ‘keep the line in law’ segment, and it is highly relevant for the UK. Full interview linked here.
5) From 23:18, Jamie Bambrick: sex, parents, and the state Bambrick is blunt about what happens when the state takes over moral formation. “Sex has become a leisure activity”, and the case for marriage becomes merely optional. He then makes the child-centred argument: “there is just no doubt whatsoever that the best environment in which to raise children is in that environment of their natural birth parents”.
