Charlie Kirk, a 31 year old MAGA campaigner and ardent conservative Christian, whose core message was that America was founded as a Christian nation and needed to return to its spiritual roots, has been shot dead while speaking at a university event in Utah.

Already, he is being spoken of as a martyr, and Christian Today has pulled together reaction from many Christians, shocked at his death, speaking of their knowledge of his faith.

He started “Turning Point” aged 18, touring universities to influence students towards conservatism, and was prolific on all social media platforms, speaking about culture war issues such as family values, transgender identity and climate change.

The Religion News Service reports that recently he started Turning Point Faith, “to rally pastors and other Christian leaders to Trump’s cause and began speaking openly about his faith”.  He argued that America must return to its “Judaeo-Christian roots” and urged churches to mobilise politically, especially around Trump-aligned conservatism.
