(Editor’s note: Mr Michale Swain is the director of FOR SA, an independent body representing the interests of millions of South Africans (Christians and other faiths), especially opposing government attempts to control religious bodies and thus restrict freedom of religion. On Thursday, 19 June, the Chairperson of the CRL Rights Commission, Mrs Thoko Mkhwanazi-Xaluva convened an urgent press conference. The Chair then took over thirty minutes to make multiple false and defamatory allegations against FOR SA and its Executive Director, Michael Swain. She concluded with a visit to the Hillbrow police station, where she laid a criminal charge against Michael Swain for crimen injuria, which could carry a five-year prison sentence. In this video, Michael Swain responds, confirms that FOR SA is undeterred by these vexatious and unfounded charges, and outlines the next steps that FOR SA will be taking in the fight for faith and freedom.
