While Christianity is moving to fill the gap, Iran is fast becoming one of the least religious nations on earth
Iran is rejecting Islam and is among the least religious nations on earth, according to A. Darius Kamalia a human rights advocate and researcher.
Recent polls show that:
–90% of Iranians do not attend mosques.
–88% disapprove of the Islamic Republic regime.
–63% no longer identify with any form of Islam (either Shiite or Sunni).
These statistics are five years old, so all the indications are that the Iranian population has become even more secular since then. Imagine what they are now with what’s happened over the last five years, even the last six months, or six days! Hatred of Ayatollah Khamenei is at an all-time high. There is little doubt the vast population would like to see him gone or dead. Pity is in short supply.
Iran is Rejecting Islam
What’s happening in Iran is wider than protests against a government. It’s deeper than a revolution against the Islamic regime. It’s no less than a turning away from the foreign and imposed religion of Islam that was forced on it by the sword.
“We are witnessing a tectonic shift in the cultural geography of one of the world’s major civilizations. Persia, historically responsible for so much of the great scientific, artistic, literary, philosophical, and cultural achievements attributed to Islam–is leaving that religion,” says Kamalia.
