Hamas sympathisers use streaming services to post anti-Israel anthems that glorify murders of Jews
Music streaming platforms are being used to spread extremist material and hate content to millions of listeners, research has found.
Hamas sympathisers are exploiting streaming services to post anti-Israel songs glorifying murder and terrorist attacks.
One song, which calls for Jordanians to join Hamas’s war on Israel, has been played more than half a million times, with other extremist songs found to have hundreds of thousands of listeners.
A report by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD) claims that, despite attempts by moderators to remove content praising Hamas and terrorist activity, similar material continues to appear on music platforms such as SoundCloud.
This includes songs containing phrases such as “Death to Israel” and “Death to America”. A song called Jordanian Flood, which urges Jordanians to join forces with Hamas, has been played more than 600,000 times.
The song features lyrics such as “Go to the border and arm yourself” and “The temple is fake … there is no Jewish state”. Users in tracks’ comments sections expressed support for extremists, such as the Maher Al-Jazzy, a Jordanian who killed three Israeli border guards in September 2024.
The Time to Stop The Music report identified more than 550 songs that appeared to violate SoundCloud’s own rules.
Of 30 songs analysed in detail, each glorified acts of terror, 22 mentioned Hamas and eight mentioned other terror groups, including the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Researchers also found what they described as terror-related content on other platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal and Deezer.
