State Sexuality Ideological Coercion, The Spiral of Silence, and The Church

Sacramento, CA—We are at war.  And it is only because we become mesmerized by satanic lullabies that we think we are not. Darkness advances as the light retreats. For far too long, many who are commanded to bear the light in the Golden State and who are called to stand and fight have sat on the sidelines or retreated. Why? Perhaps it’s because our leaders have not informed us that we are at war or trained us to fight.  Perhaps we crave our twin American idols of comfort and success more than we esteem love and faithfulness to the Lion of Judah and love of neighbor.  But the future and freedoms of our children and grandchildren are on the line.  Love must overcome fear. The church must wake up.

For Christian leaders and citizens in the Golden State, this is not a hypothetical question; it is a metastasizing reality.  The ideological noose is tightening around our necks, seeking to strangle freedom and silence the church.  Today, as woke California elites increasingly believe they have a duty to control what all citizens think, do, and say, what is the obligation of the collective Christian church and individual citizens?  As followers of Christ, we are commanded to speak the truth in love and to live not by lies.  What should we do?  What should we say? How should we live?

Before we peer into the dizzying darkness, let’s pause briefly here to remember what is good, true, and beautiful.  God created us male and female, in His image (Genesis 1:27).  The objective reality of our sexually binary anthropology is affirmed by genetics, biology, and more than 5,000 years of recorded human history.  Jesus confirmed this by affirming man-woman marriage (Matthew 19:4-5). Also, you can’t change your sex.

Yet, Christian teachers in California public schools have been told they must submit to “mandatory” Orwellian AB 5 training that coerces them to affirm a child’s gender confusion by using sex-rejecting names and pronouns and, until courts recently intervened, keeping gender secrets from parents.
