Taxpayer funded polygamy Welcome to Britain!

Great news, everyone! As of April this year, The DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) has awarded households composed of more than one wife of pensionable age a 4.8% benefit increase per wife.  Which means that a man with two, three or four wives will be eligible to receive up to around £400 extra per week.

Good news!!!  Exactly what we’ve been waiting for, isn’t it!?!

But wait a minute – doesn’t UK law say you’re allowed only one wife?

Yes, we looked it up – here it is:  ‘Whosoever, being married, shall marry any other person during the life of the former husband or wife, whether the second marriage shall have taken place in England or Ireland or elsewhere, shall be guilty of felony, and being convicted thereof shall be liable . . . to be kept in penal servitude for any term not exceeding seven years . . .’: Offences Against the Person Act 1861, s.57

So … if polygamous marriage is not just illegal in Britain, but punishable by up to 7 years imprisonment, who’s going to benefit from these new rules?   The answer is of course obvious – Muslims who have ‘legally’ married multiple wives overseas and then moved to the UK.  In fairness, it must be expensive keeping up to four wives on the go at the same time, so the new rules allowing second, third, and even fourth wives to claim an additional £150 each per week, will obviously help … but how is this right in a country that permits marriage only between two persons?

Especially in these cash strapped times, when we urgently need to increase our defence spending to meet the growing threat of Russian and Middle Eastern aggression, how can we possibly justify paying benefits to maintain a value-system not just alien, but opposed, to the values on which our society and political system is based?

This is surely multi-culturalism and diversity gone mad! The get-out-of-jail card for the DWP is that the marriages must have been legally entered into overseas, but why should this make an iota of difference when applied to family arrangements which are explicitly prohibited under British law, and which wouldn’t receive such payments if they occurred here?  Which indeed would be rewarded with imprisonment! Let us remember, in the UK any individual is legally allowed only one husband, or one wife, and people coming to this country with different family arrangements should not expect to benefit from the much-needed financial support offered to British citizens facing low income, unemployment, or disability.  Nor should the Government use money extracted in taxes from ordinary British citizens to support and encourage so culturally alien a lifestyle.

Sad to say, the main effect of these payments will be to make British government complicit in further aiding the establishment of an alternative counter culture; one that is not just inimical to our society and way of life, but that threatens in the not too distant future to become the dominant force in our nation.  With Muslims in the majority, we can expect Sharia law to be first introduced, then imposed, via democracy, and, on the coat-tails of that, Christians will be required to submit to the authority of Mohammed.

At every level, this is wrong.  Those coming to our country must accept our culture and values and live by our laws.  They must accept that they are in a Christian country, and this must be the guiding principle of government.  Woolly notions of supporting multi-cultural diversity must be soundly rejected.
