Britain, America and Nato morally responsible for Christians in Afghanistan

Andrew Carey writes in the Church of England Newspaper for September 3rd:

Patrick Sookhdeo of Barnabas Fund has advised military missions to Afghanistan and Iraq. He served as cultural adviser to the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in 2010. He recounts that in an attempt to convince very conservative Pashtun people that President Karzai’s government was compliant with Sharia law, ISAF funded a programme of commissioning ‘fatwas’ (religious judgements) from leading Imams to demonstrate the government’s virtue. The problem with one of these ‘fatwas’ is that it supported the death penalty for apostates. This means that the moral responsibility of Britain and America and other NATO powers to ‘apostates’ (mainly Christians) is undeniable. Our actions have helped make life intolerable for Christian converts in Afghanistan and we must open our doors to specifically Christian refugees.
