Children and Sexuality – ‘World War Three’ says ex-gay Activist to London Conference

Jan 10, 2025 by

“WHEN it comes to children and sexuality, we’re in World War 3!”.  So said James Parker, a widely travelled ex-gay activist speaking at a conference held in London this week (JAN6) but also streamed globally.

Mr Parker, (56), was visiting the UK ahead of the British Government’s launch of its ‘Conversion Therapy Bill’, and at a time when Trans-rights are hotly debated in the media, as well as in sports clubs and at the school gate. The conference, called ‘The MSC Group introduces James Parker’ was organised by the Marriage, Sex and Culture Group in partnership with Anglican Mainstream.

Mr Parker was 14 when he was told his only option for happiness was to ‘embrace his identity as a gay man’.  He pursued it and said that he “found the perfect long-term relationship, became a strong advocate of gay rights, and challenged people and institutions that did not accept the LGBTQ community.” However, his story took a dramatic turn.  Now his events leave audiences questioning their own lives and sexuality, and whether they’ve labelled themselves as “victims of their past,” or he asks, “can we emerge victorious?”

Parker speaks globally in the area of human sexuality, gender and identity – including issues of childhood sexual abuse, sex and porn addiction.  He advocates for the “profound benefits of counselling and prayer” which he says have proven to help him and so many others.

Parker warned the London gathering that the UK Government would use the ‘Change or Suppression (Conversion) Practices Prohibition Act’, passed in Victoria State, Australia in 2021 as the foundation of their Bill. He warned that in Australia, the impact had been experienced as a “crackdown more akin to a Marxist approach of silencing any dissenting view”.  He said the legislation “made it a criminal offence to help anyone move towards heterosexuality, or suggest it was the ‘norm’, or to ‘affirm their biological sex’, or even to suggest embracing chastity, or to offer Biblical insight on sexual mores”.

The hybrid event of over 100 church leaders, parents and grandparents concerned about the potential impact of a UK Bill heard that many institutions around the world had been influenced by “a very few people, with very loud voices arguing that it was a human right to express and practice same-sex orientation and behaviour, and a crime to suppress that”.

Mr Parker, aiming his remarks mainly to the UK Church, urged Christians to engage fully with the political process about to unfold.  He also posed a novel pastoral way for churches to engage with those with same-sex attraction, or with gender identity issues.

He explained: “The question to pose to such a person is ‘Do you want/need more loving?’, and, to lead the person to put their faith and trust in life in Jesus, who is the Great Lover, and who proceeds from mercy, grace and forgiveness – rather than condemnation.

“People who have felt unloved need to feel loved and cared for. Christians are called to co-operate with the work of God’s Spirit, and to realise they cannot walk with such people unless they themselves realise they too have missed the mark and are broken.”  Church leaders were encouraged to welcome such people into their congregations and to care for them, while not approving of their current behaviour.

Parents and grandparents attending were urged to examine school Sex Education programmes and policies.  Parker said that those promoting the ‘gay agenda’ often seek to use such avenues “to influence children to believe that all forms of sexual behaviour ‘are equal’ in value.”

Questions from participants were raised and addressed throughout the four-hour conference which has been recorded. Further information and resources from the conference, including the presentations made are available by emailing Drlisa1957@gmail.com

Editor’s Notes:

James Parker has worked with most Christian denominations and at every level of the Church. Today, when not busy as a dad, he facilitates the peer support networks True Identity, Survivors’ Support Network, and Trans-Parents-See. Within a few years, James has seen his new homeland of Australia pass a law which deny access to life-giving counselling and prayer for citizen suffering with sexuality, dysphoria and sexual abuse issues, bolstered with criminal threats up to 10 years in prison, and fines of over 500,000 Australian Dollars for those who fail to obey.  Suicidal ideation/thoughts are now on the rise among those and unduly suffering.
