Churches across the country marking Remembrance Sunday

Church of England parishes across the country are inviting their communities to join them this Sunday to mark the 100th anniversary of the moment the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War.

More than 1,000 churches have already made use of the online church-finding tool – A Church Near You – to register their remembrance services ahead of Armistice Day.

The Church of England has produced an online film, ‘We will remember them’, inviting people to remember all those who fought, served, and died in the Great War by joining an Armistice Day service at their local church.

Meanwhile the Church of England’s Facebook page will live stream the annual remembrance service from Ely Cathedral from 10.45am on Sunday.

Churches and cathedrals are hosting events and visual exhibitions, including poppy displays, to mark Remembrance Sunday.
