Islamism: the enemy we dare not name

Since arriving in Europe in the 1990s, she has been dismayed to witness the growing strength of Islamism in the West. The Islamist terror threat repeatedly rears its ugly head. Informal Islamic blasphemy laws limit our freedom of speech. Alliances between Islamic sectarians and Western ‘progressives’ are warping democratic politics. Thankfully, Ali says, it’s not too late to stand up to these forces. We must use our liberal freedoms to fight back – while we still can.
