Remember when the Government legalised same-sex marriage in churches but promised nobody would ever be forced to conduct them, thanks to the ‘quadruple lock’?

Remember when we said: “We have no confidence in so-called ‘safeguards’ Ministers will offer”?

One of the three, Lord Collins of Highbury, has also co-signed an amendment to impose same-sex marriage on Northern Ireland, despite this being a matter for the devolved Assembly.

Both amendments are to the Civil Partnerships, Marriages and Deaths (Registration Etc.) Bill, which will be discussed in the Lords tomorrow.
