No-fault divorce ‘makes marriage the easiest contract to break’

Is it right that you can now get divorced without apportioning blame?

Tim Dieppe speaks to LBC about the new ‘no-fault divorce’ law, explaining why it’s such a bad idea: “it basically allows one partner to unilaterally impose divorce on the other partner with all of the consequences that that entails including loss of family home, and child care issues, as well as imposing that on the children as well. It basically means that marriage is the only contract where one person can unilaterally end it without apportioning any reason, without citing any problems, any fault with the other side, and say ‘that’s it’. There’s no consequences for the person that decides to break the contract up.”
