Members of the Pro-Life All-Party Parliamentary Group (Pro-Life APPG) have denounced new abortion guidelines released by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

Fiona Bruce MP and Carla Lockhart MP expressed shock at the organisation’s call for all restrictions on abortion to be scrapped.

The new guidance contains over 50 recommendations, including abortion on request, the roll out of DIY abortion pill schemes and a call to end conscience protections.

She argued that radical policies, such as “calling for abortion on demand right up to birth and allowing sex-selective terminations”, were being “driven by hardened abortion campaigners” rather than public opinion.

Reflecting on her 12-week scan, showing the fully formed body of her son, she asked: “Why has it taken such a hardline view which pretends a baby has no humanity until it breathes its first breath?

“A view that denies every single one of those not yet born any of the ‘human rights’ the WHO so loudly exalts?”
