Starkey: Cameron supremely silly over gay marriage

David Starkey has called David Cameron’s decision to force gay marriage on the Conservative party a “supremely silly decision”.

In a lengthy interview with the Sun newspaper, the outspoken openly homosexual historian slammed the former PM’s decision to antagonise his party’s membership with his zealous endorsement of same-sex marriage. He is very rude about Cameron.

It’s not the first time Starkey has questioned the redefinition of marriage. Before it was imposed on England and Wales in 2013, over the protests of millions of people, Starkey said he was “suspicious” of its impact. In 2012 he shared his increasing awareness “of the value of established institutions and suspicious of the levelling equality which dissolves them and atomises society”.
