To mark South Sudan’s Ninth Independence Day on July 9th, Anglican International Development put out a live broadcast featuring Archbishop Badi of South Sudan, and work of the Episcopal Church in Microfinance, Sanitation, Training Health Professionals and Church Strengthening. Tabitha Muthui the AID projects officer was live from Nairobi, and a message of support was received from Baroness Caroline Cox.

AID was founded at the same time as South Sudan emerged as an independent nation on the initiative of Archbishop Peter Akinola and Canon Vinay Samuel following the GAFCON Jerusalem Conference in 2008. They realized that faithful but dependent Anglican Provinces such as South Sudan could not in good conscience accept funds from Anglican Provinces that did not follow Anglican and biblical orthodoxy. The video is 52 minutes long and can be viewed here.
