Evangelism and Gospel mission are at the heart of Gafcon: “We will proclaim Christ faithfully to the nations.”

But in 1998 at the Lambeth conference the focus of discussions amongst the bishops from around the world was controversy about sexuality, which was a great disappointment to Archbishop Ben Kwashi and many other bishops in the Anglican Communion who work hard and risk their lives to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus. “Nobody wanted to hear about those of us who were suffering”, he said.

And so, Gafcon was born: the Global Anglican Future Conference. Listen to this podcast here with Archbishop Ben Kwashi to find out why Gafcon started and the impact that the movement of global Anglicans is having throughout the world.
