Tell your MP about Christian involvement in society

May 3, 2016 by

from Christian Concern:

Are you or your church involved in activities that serve your local community?

Do you know of Christian charities or organisations that are active in your local area?

A special debate will take place in the House of Commons on Thursday (5th May) on the “contribution of faith organisations to the voluntary sector in local communities”.

It’s a great opportunity to help MPs understand the many ways that Christian groups serve and contribute to society. Doing so could help to protect that involvement in the future.

Please contact your MP:

  1. Ask them to attend and speak at Thursday’s debate (‘Contribution of faith organisations to the voluntary sector in local communities’).
  2. Give them specific examples of the role that Christian churches and organisations play. If you are personally involved, tell your MP how and why that has come about, and what you do.
  3. Invite them to come and visit, or to contact you for more information.

Our aim isn’t to boast but to help MPs better understand the scope and value of Christian voluntary involvement in local communities.
