UK House of Lords report says UK foreign policy should help Christians in the Middle East

A Committee of the UK House of Lords has stated that the UK has humanitarian obligations towards Christians and other minorities in the Middle East.
The report by the House of Lords Select Committee on International Relations stated that:
“The UK has humanitarian obligations: there has been a significant human cost to the violence of the region; rising numbers of refugees and internally displaced persons; and sectarian conflicts have resulted in the perpetration of violence against minorities, such as the Yazidis and especially Christians. The recent attacks against Coptic Christians in Egypt (Palm Sunday) are part of a string of attacks against Christians in the region.”
It also warned that, “What happens in the Middle East does not stay in the Middle East”.
