Many LGBTQ Christians oppose doctrinal reform

from Financial Times:

Letter from Luke Appleton:

I have now read two pieces advocating for doctrinal change in the Church of England (“Episcopalian lessons for the Church of England”, Opinion, February 25; and “Church of England ‘fulminators’ take note”, Letters, March 17). In the interest of balance, it is worth noting that over half of the members of General Synod that spoke up during the recent same-sex marriage debate, and who identified as LGBTQ, spoke against the motion. There are many LGBTQ Christians within the church who do not support doctrinal change. Their voices are every bit as important as those seeking reform.

General Synod Member for Exeter Diocese Paignton, Devon, UK
