Accused of bigotry, the chief of the Christian Legal Centre says her actions are driven by love of Christ and for her neighbour,

Andrea Williams found her faith at the age of four, when her Sunday school teacher told her about Jesus Christ.

Andrea Minichiello Williams’s critics describe her as a fundamentalist bigot over her robust views against abortion and same-sex marriage. For them the barrister is out of touch with modern society.

But to her supporters, Williams is a faithful servant of Christ, pointing the world to the love of Jesus and eternal life.
The 57-year-old is the chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, which, according to its website, seeks to “safeguard the freedom of Christians to live and speak for Jesus Christ” and help those “taking a stand for Jesus and the truth that flows from him”. In a string of high-profile cases, the centre has acted for Christians who have found themselves before the courts because of their faith. This includes an NHS nurse, who the centre alleges was fired for offering patients prayer, and a magistrate sacked for opposing adoption by gay couples.
