CBS Cheers Iceland for “Eliminating Down Syndrome,” But Patricia Heaton Sets Them Straight

The issue of abortion has long been a topic of controversy in the United States. As a general rule, conservatives oppose abortion because they see it as nothing less than murder, while liberals seem to think it is something that can help society.

Iceland made its own kind of abortion-related headline on Tuesday for a rather shocking reason. CBS News ran an article claiming that Iceland is close to eliminating Down syndrome through abortion.

The article talked about how Iceland now has screenings that can tell parents if children will have Down syndrome, allowing the parents the option of getting rid of their child through an abortion.

Actress Patricia Heaton, the television star and noted pro-life advocate, went on Twitter and quickly blasted the CBS report in a tweet that went viral.

“Iceland isn’t actually eliminating Down Syndrome. They’re just killing everybody that has it. Big difference,” she wrote.
