She says we in the West are supposedly living in an age of reason and in a gentler, kinder world, but you only have to look around to see the disturbing nature of what is passing for justice and conscience – words that have been hijacked and turned into the opposite of what they actually mean; for example the victim culture, junking the previously accepted rules of sexual behaviour and the shutting down of free speech. She also charts her own journey out of left-wing Guardian journalism.
