Operation Sovereign: Prayer Bulletin Week 49

Dec 9, 2019 by

“ ‘Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, little Israel, do not fear, for I myself will help you,’ declares the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.”  Isaiah 41:14.

With just days to go to the General Election, let us this week focus on the spiritual battle raging over our nation.

1.         In the closing days of the campaign, all parties are saying the stakes are higher than in any recent election: they are right.  Brexit is manifestation of the battle being fought over our nation for spiritual control.   Whatever happens, the battle will not thereby be ‘won’, but the outcome is crucial, because it will decide which way we go.   We are called to stand against the stranglehold of evil.

In the name of the Lord, and by the power of His blood, let us stand against ruling spirits illegitimately seeking to assert control over the nation.   Proclaim the Lord’s inalienable sovereignty and, standing on His victory on the cross, pray in light, life and truth.  Pray that the eyes and ears of many be opened, that they be enabled to hear the Gospel and choose life.   Pray that those who promote evil be ‘supernaturally’ removed.

Pray for a clear and decisive outcome to the election that will bring to an end the chaos of the last months.  Pray for new and Godly beginnings.  Pray the Lord’s will be done.

2.         In the run-up to the election, Stonewall issued their own manifesto, calling for LGBT rights to be protected and extended (https://www.stonewall.org.uk/system/files/2019_general_election_stonwall_manifesto.pdf).  They are already working to make the whole of the school curriculum LGBT compliant, now they want to consolidate their hold across all walks of life.  This is an evil ideology that opposes Christianity, seeking to close down freedom of belief and of speech.

Pray that campaigns by activists seeking to embed ideologies hostile to the teaching of the Bible be divinely stopped.  Pray the Lord’s love surround those caught by these ideologies – that their eyes be opened and that they turn to Christ and be set free.  Cry out to the Lord to purify the Church, and raise up shepherds who will protect the flock and lead the nation into righteousness.  Pray that He show us a better way.

3.         Pray for our leaders and those in authority – that they may be led by the Lord.  Pray holy confusion and frustration into the purposes of those who plot harm.  Pray that the light once again rise in our nation, and be poured forth across the world to save and help those who are lost.
