TEC’s proposed changes to the liturgy and doctrine of Christian marriage

by Stephen Noll:

In Part A, “The Episcopal Church and Trial [Use] Marriage,” I look at TEC’s proposal to institutionalize same-sex marriage in its Prayer Book.

In Part B, “Who Is Coming to the Episcopal Wedding Reception?,” I lay out the rationale for this action in terms of a deceptive process of “open reception.”

In Part C, “Thumbs Sideways: The Church of England Responds to TEC,” I look at responses to the TEC agenda from churches of the Communion and particularly the Church of England and suggest that the official response of the Church of England to TEC’s proposed actions was equivocal.

In Part D,  “What Does Justin Welby Think About Same-Sex Marriage?,” I ask the question what the Archbishop of Canterbury himself believes about same-sex marriage (see also the recent post by my colleague Charles Raven).
